Could AI make it harder for women to get a loan? It’s a confronting paradox: technology with the potential to reduce gender bias can just as easily amplify it. When tools like AI are built on biased data and shaped by unequal systems, they don’t challenge inequality, they scale it. The real risk isn’t the technology itself, but who designs it, whose perspectives are missing, and who is held accountable.
Inclusion in tech isn’t a “nice to have”. It’s the safeguard that determines whether innovation becomes an equaliser or a weapon.
