Branding is like the personality and integrity of a product, business or person.

If your brand is perceived to be untrustworthy, not delivering on a promise or even if it is seemingly unfriendly to your market - then this can have a direct impact on your bottom line as people will choose to do business elsewhere.

 

To ensure you have a quality "brand" for your small business, consider the following:

· Google your business name to see how you are perceived already on the web.

· How are you and your staff dealing with complaints?

· Is your marketing “message” honest and does it deliver on its promise?

· Review your online portals: website, Facebook and Twitter – what are you saying on there and how are people responding to you.

· Do a small customer survey, on a regular basis.

· Be honest about changes needed and make them ASAP.
